Artsy Kitchen Tea at Yoco Eatery

This authentically artistic kitchen tea took place at the historical Rust-en-Vrede which was originally built in the 1840’s in Durbanville. This beautifully restored heritage building is surrounded by a delightful garden that hosts craft markets in the summer months. Inside you will find a gallery of local artists, the Yoco Eatery coffee shop, the clay museum and various art rooms. The Something Blue decor theme worked perfectly with the vintage setting.

Babalwa had a fabulous time with her friends at her kitchen tea which I hosted at Yoco Eatery in Durbanville. On arrival, the guests received a sparkling strawberry and mint cordial. The first part of the event took place inside the art room of Rust-en-Vrede. A delicious high tea was laid out for the guests to nibble on whilst they explored their creative talents. I lead the girls through the process of painting a floral wreath in watercolours. Whilst this was going on we played a gamed of Don’t Say Bride and Portia, the bridesmaid with whom I’d arranged the event, was the first to be caught out. Afterwards, a savoury quiche and salad was served in the coffee shop and the merriment continued with a game of Remember When.
